Rail Minister Piyush Goyal today said process has been initiated for recruitment of over 38 thousand Group C employees and over one lakh three thousand Group D employees this year.
In a written reply in Lok Sabha, Mr Goyal said, this includes 10 per cent quota for Economically Weaker Section along with quotas for other constitutional reservations. He said that in 2018, recruitment process for 77,858 Group C and 63,202 Group D employees was started.
This process is in final stage now and is likely to be completed by August this year. The Minister said these are largest cycles of recruitment in terms of number of vacancies so far.
